DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Nelson Food and Drink Festival will return in style on Saturday 9th September from 10 am-4 pm\, with a number of fantastic free attractions including live cooking demonstrations\, entertainment for all the family and an extra special competition for local school children. \nLocal Caribbean chef Mama Shar will headline the kitchen demonstration area with her delicious\, authentic Caribbean food\, and she will be joined by the extremely popular Solo Pizza\, who will be showcasing a live masterclass cooking demonstration of authentic Italian pizza. \nAlongside the demonstrations\, there will be over 30 food and drink stalls\, offering incredible cuisine and an array of aromatic worldwide delights. \nWith limited available space remaining\, organisers of the Food and Drink Festival\, which takes place on Saturday 9th September are encouraging local businesses to book their food stalls now. \nFor more information\, contact charlotte@scottdawson.co.uk. \nThe free-to-attend event\, which will take place in Nelson Town Centre and is being sponsored by Nelson Town Council and Financial Affairs\, will also feature a number of activities for all the family including face painting\, a henna artist and Bollywood style dancers\, plus much more. \nLocal schoolchildren from 35 schools have also been invited\, and will be receiving a poster competition in schools for them to draw their favourite food – with the winning entry receiving a hamper delivered to school! \nFaraz Ahmad\, Vice Chairman of Nelson Town Council\, said: “We are so excited to have The Nelson Food and Drink Festival back this year and it is going to be bigger and better than ever. DESCRIPTION:Tackling the Pendle countryside you will enjoy one of three routes: 25km\, 68km\, or 95km\, enjoying the beautiful surroundings as you pass through the district of Pendle. Starting and finishing at the Steven Burke Sports Hub\, this is an event for all supported by Pendle Borough Council. \nThe Course \nThe course starts by cycling North out of Barrowford\, towards Barnoldswick\, then leaving the Pendle district by heading to Skipton. Once through Skipton and the surrounding countryside you will re-enter Pendle heading West towards Pendle Hill before starting a steady incline at Chatburn before cycling down into Barley. With a steady finish\, the event finishes back in Barrowford at the Steven Burke Sports Hub for a very well-earned rest and Wiggle North Series medal.\nThis cycle offers you a challenge\, but an enjoyable day out. We ensure that all our food is in season and locally sourced\, fully supporting the ‘gate to fork’ philosophy of knowing where our food comes from. We can trace much of our food back to the farm it was reared or grown! \nAll dishes are freshly prepared with an eye to detail and we regularly welcome some of the region’s top chefs to lead special services; including BBC’s Great British Menu chef Nigel Howarth\, who opened our new restaurant in 2009 and BBC Asian Fusion Chef Aazam Ahmad. \nNot only that\, but our catering students are closely supervised by some fantastic tutors who have a wealth of experience in the industry.
